This is not how I envisioned this announcement to go. The COVID-19 pandemic has changed the way we all do daily life, it has hurt many small businesses and caused chaos for many families and individuals. We realize this does not come at a good time and we want to be sensitive to that; however, despite all of the sad news circulating, our team has some exciting news to share. We've changed our name from Sea Paper Designs to Hunny Prints™!
 
We had planned on making this transition, before the COVID-19 pandemic hit. Not knowing when this will pass, our team thought now is as good a time as any to make this change. I personally would love to share with you why the name has changed.
 
When I first began Sea Paper Designs in 2014, I had just given birth to my son, Christian. I was looking for a way to stay home with my babe and use my creative and marketing talents. I lived in a little beach cottage in Naples, Florida and loved to paint ocean-inspired things. I opened my Etsy shop and sold hand-painted beach and ocean themed party goods. At that time, the name Sea Paper Designs fit my business well! Little did I know, the shop would grow rapidly and as time went on, my style and designs changed too. 
 
I fell in love with making feminine and pretty invitations and party goods to match. You will see this reflected in most items that I have designed for the shop. Since defining my style over the years, I've been feeling the nudge to change the name from Sea Paper Designs to something more fitting. A name that matches my style, a name that means something to me and a name that is timeless. 
 
My husband, Michael and I spent months coming up with the perfect name and believe it or not, it is no easy feat! After months of working together, we came up with: Hunny Prints™! Here is why this name means so much to us... when Michael and I were dating, our first dance was to "Queen Bee" by musician Taj Mahal. This was the song we danced to at our wedding and we gave our guests honey sticks as a wedding favor. The invitations and other day-of items I designed for my wedding were the first I'd ever designed. Little did I know then, designing invitations would end up being my career! My husband has called me "Hunny" since we had that first dance back in 2010, and now that's what he calls our sweet daughter. The word "Hunny" is a term of endearment many people use to refer to their loved ones. The events that our customers plan are typically for ones that they love and for those they may call "Hunny". From my perspective, this word defines and fits my brand perfectly. I'm very proud of our new name, Hunny Prints™ - and despite our current circumstances - I'm excited to share it with you all!
 
We look forward to serving all of our wonderful customers now as Hunny Prints™! Even though our name has changed, you can continue to expect us to create unique, one-of-a-kind, hand-painted invitations and matching day-of party essentials.

For the time being, we know the COVID-19 pandemic has temporarily changed how we gather for events. Many of you have had to postpone, cancel, or even host your events digitally during this time. Please know that our team is here to help you in any way we can! We can help in one of three ways for any cancelled or postponed events: create a digital or paper announcement to send your guests for a change in plans; send you a complimentary digital version of your already ordered invitation with updated event information; or re-print your invitations for a small fee. Our team is operating as usual and we look forward to serving you during this time. We also want you to know that we understand most of you are probably contained to your homes, either alone or with bored kiddos.
